As we all know, spending all day on the computer can leave us feeling like a cracked out zombie. One of my favorite ways to break away from the computer is Time Out. I don’t know about you but often times I can get so consumed in my work that I lose track of time & easily spend TONS of hours in front of the computer working, with zero break. No lunch, no exercise, no relaxation for my eyes or brain. This is not good.
At the beginning of this year I found a fab solution to help de-zombify my brain + release tension that builds when spending too much time in front of the computer. It has completely changed the way I work. Forcing me to take scheduled breaks throughout the day. Time Out, baby! Completely customizable, you get to pick how often your breaks are scheduled as well as how long they last for.
I set Time Out to take a ten minute break every hour. Once my working hour is up – Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” starts playing to get me pumped. I then run on my treadmill for 5-7 minutes. Grab some water or munchie goodness and head back to work. Great to get the blood flowing + give your eyes a rest + recharge your brain. These are called micro breaks. Note: You can select your own music or sound file for your break start and end time. Music you love can dramatically lift your mood. Choose a song that gets you amped and inspired.
At the end of the day, I essentially get way more done and feel so much better emotionally and physically because I am taking time out to breathe, exercise & relax.
No more ending my work day feeling like a cracked out zombie.
You can grab Time Out for free.
